Funerals, Memorials & Celebration of Life Ceremonies
As a minister, I have celebrated life & love through the many couples I have served. I have experienced this through the wedding celebrations and renewal of vows ceremonies that I have presided over, sharing in the laughter and the tears of their family and friends. I have also had the privilege of presiding over memorials, celebration of life ceremonies and Christian funerals.
It is just as important for me to be able to celebrate and showcase a couple's love as it is for me to do so when delivering an individual's eulogy. This, too, is a celebration of one's life and love that lives on within their loved ones. It is a deep honor when I am selected to do so.
The words that I write in an individual's eulogy is the last testament of his or her life. It is important for me to capture who that individual was, their likes (and sometimes even dislikes!), their passions, their family & friends, their accomplishments.....just to name a few! I am able to do this through meeting with their loved ones and going over a series of questions. When family and friends provide this insight, it allows me to better know the deceased and a wonderful tool for me to use when it is time to prepare the eulogy. If a face-to-face meeting is not possible, due to time constraints and/or distance (i.e. out of state) a telephone interview is always available.
I am very respectful of both the individual & family members' spirituality while holding sensitive to requests. Often times, I am working with a family who may not have maintained ties with a church, synogogue or other house of worship. This does not mean that their loved one did not have beliefs, values and spirituality! As a minister, it is important for me to honor all faiths & traditions. I am happy to offer ideas not limited to readings, Scripture, poems and other pieces of literature that can be incorporated into the celebration. I also provide suggestions that can be incorporated, both visual and verbal.
As with any of my services, it is important to me to offer fair and affordable rates:
Memorial Service Honorarium = $125
Funeral Honorarium = $150
Funeral with Graveside Service Honorarium = $200
