Constance & Josh's wedding (8-21-08 @ The Manor in Everett, WA)
Constance and Josh are a couple who came back to the "north end" from their home in Cowlitz county to celebrate their wedding. Constance, Josh and I first started working together in early March '08 and had what some people would consider to be a long distance working relationship. We didn't let a few hours' drive time get in our way of planning a fantastic celebration!
The wonderful advantage I have when working with my couples is that I have at my finger tips so many different avenues in which I can work with them; from telephone, internet and even instant messaging! It doesn't matter so much anymore where a couple lives -- it doesn't hamper or change my contact with them. I'm able to communicate with a couple just as I would one that lives in the same city as I do.
Constance worked so hard, getting details in place, keeping all of her wedding professionals on the same page and communicating and providing updates. She was truly an angel to work with. Her organizational skills were incredible as well as her follow ups.
When I was able to meet Constance and Josh in person, it was at a Starbucks in Marysville. They had made a special stop on their way up north one Saturday and I realized right away that this was definately a fun-loving, life-enjoying couple! Their humor, energy and love for each other was very apparent and I wanted to be able to capture for them all of this and more in the words that I would be writing for their ceremony.
Their wedding was full of the same type of energy. They selected The Manor in Everett, WA to hold their celebration at. The grounds there are just beautiful; very clean and well-manicured. Heather, the events coordinator onsite, was fabulous to work with as well. She and I worked together to coordinate the eight bridesmaids, eight groomsmen, two ring bearers and flower girl. As one of Constance's bridesmaids said, "Getting those boys together isn't like herding cattle -- it's like herding cats!" I've never heard it put that way before. :)
Constance and Josh combined many different aspects of their relationship into their ceremony, even saying to each other vows that they created. Josh suprised me when he told me that he was going to be speaking from the heart. They both did such a great job -- it was a joy to watch them and to listen to them express their love for each other.
Before I left, I made sure to get a snapshot of the three of us to add to my scrapbook of happy couples that I've been privileged to bring into marriage. I didn't get away too easy; I was suprised by their gratitude for my services and was left with this pic to remember them by, which I've attached below.
Thanks, Constance & Josh -- congratualtions to you both!!
